From This Day Forward Part 2

(Lamentations 3:19-23) I remember my affliction and my wandering,

the bitterness and the gall. I well remember them, and my soul is

downcast within me. Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope:

Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his

compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your

faithfulness.


1. Seek God.

2. Fight Fair.

3. Have Fun.

4. Stay Pure.

5. Never Give Up.


Fight Fair


(Genesis 2:24) For this reason a man will leave his father and mother

and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.


(Psalm 133:1, 3) How good and pleasant it is when brothers live

together in unity…It is as if the dew were falling on Mt. Zion. For there

the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.


✔️We are fighting the wrong enemy.


Ephesians 6:12 NLT "For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies…"


Mark 3:25 "If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”


✔️We are driven by wrong motives.

Proverbs 16:2 "All a person's ways seem pure to them but motives are weighed by The Lord.”


✔️We are using wrong tactics.


1 Corinthians 6:3,7 NLT "Don't you realize that we will judge angels? So you should surely be able to resolve ordinary disputes in this life. Even to have such lawsuits (seeking determination of wrong) among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated?"


From This Day Forward


(James 1:19-20) My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should

be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s

anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.


Stop and listen carefully.


“…quick to listen”


(Proverbs 18:2 NLT) Fools have no interest in understanding: they

only want to air their own opinions.


2. Guard my words vigilantly.


“…slow to speak”


(Proverbs 21:23 NLT) Watch your tongue and keep your mouth

shut, and you will stay out of trouble.


3. Manage my anger righteously.


“…slow to become angry”


(Ephesians 4:26-27) In your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun

go down while you are angry, and do not give the devil a

foothold.


In times of conflict, I will fight for unity, not for personal victory.
