All Of Me Part 1

Aug 2, 2026    Les Harvey

This sermon opens a new series called "All of Me," centered on the greatest commandment as recorded in Mark 12, where Jesus calls his followers to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. Drawing from both the New Testament account and its roots in Deuteronomy 6 (the Shema), the pastor establishes that God does not want partial devotion -- he wants the whole person. Before unpacking what that looks like practically, the sermon focuses on the foundational question of who God is and why he is worthy of complete surrender. Three key dimensions of the phrase "love the Lord your God" are explored: love as commitment and delight rather than mere feeling, the Lord as consecrated and set apart above all else, and "your God" as a covenant relationship in which God pursues his people not for religion but for relationship. The sermon closes with an invitation to salvation and a call for believers to restore God to his rightful place of supremacy in their lives.
